More than a skate spotThe Night Life
Concert Square is the hub of Liverpool nightlife and is the place to hear the latest chart/r&b/hip hop music. An acquired taste, Concert Square is always a hive of activity on a Saturday night with revelers from all over the UK descending on the bars and clubs sprawling from the outdoor courtyard that is the square’s centre-point. There is also a 3 floored club, Krazyhouse, which is set in a former factory that has a unique music policy for each floor – definitely a must-visit for your first year in Liverpool.
If you’re of the skinny-jeaned, be-fringed persuasion, you are also well catered for here in Liverpool. Le Bataeu (or The Boat, to locals) is on Duke Street and plays the latest and greatest indie and electro on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s £5 for entry, but there are regular drink offers, especially early on in the academic year. Alternatively, there are many unsigned band nights, often free entry, on Seel Street. Heebie Jeebies have bands on in the outdoor courtyard and in the basement, The Masque often host some of the UK’s biggest signed acts and Zanzibar, too, is a hotbed of Liverpool’s brightest young bands.
